Will a garage door and opener work in a garage with low ceiling?

Should I use a torsion spring or an extension spring?
Torsion and extension springs are the two kinds of springs used on garage doors. Torsion springs are attached to the header and usually located above the door’s top section. They’re wound springs and don’t contract or expand when the garage door is moved. Extension springs, on the other hand, are attached on either side of the garage door. They expand along the horizontal track when the garage door is closed. Torsion springs are known for their safety and smoother operation. They also balance the door’s weight better.
Do I have to install a lock on my garage door?
A lock may not be necessary if there’s an electric garage door opener installed on your door. Electric openers can serve as the lock, so intruders won’t be able to lift the door from the outside. If you’re using an older opener, see if the door can be raised from the outside. Don’t install a lock when there’s an opener installed on your door as a child or another family member may inadvertently lock the door. If somebody tries to open the garage door using an electric opener, the opener will only pull against the lock. This will damage the door. If there’s no electric opener installed on the garage door, installing a lock is recommended. You can find residential garage doors without locks as most doors are used with openers. Optional locks can be purchased from garage door dealers.
What garage doors can ensure the safety of my family?
Since the garage door is the biggest moving object in your property, you should always consider its safety. After all, you don’t want to put your family and valuables at risk. Garage doors are built with safety systems to boost the level of safety they offer.
Should I hire a professional garage door installer?
Proper installation is important and connecting the springs can be dangerous. Professional garage door installers can install your garage door within a few hours and ensure that safety requirements are met. Incorrect installation can cancel warranties and pose a risk to your safety.
